Courage California works with local and statewide partners to identify priority races, screens candidates based on their top issues, approach to passing progressive policies, and record of governance and leadership.

Tim Robertson will build on a strong track record as a labor leader to champion working families and bring more funding and solutions into this vast district as a State Senator.

Paula Villescaz is a longtime advocate and community leader whose experience will give her a unique ability to address complex issues and navigate politics to pass important policies for her constituents.

Catherine Blakespear’s leadership on addressing local San Diego issues gives her a strong foundation to tackle big statewide problems with the meaningful policies we need in the State Senate.

Joseph Rocha brings a dedication to public service and uplifting working families and veterans that would change how San Diegans are represented in Sacramento – for progress, not for personal power.

Jessica Self has been working in the Central Valley to bring people to the table to work on solutions and elect leaders who better represent the district. She’s a frontline advocate for families who will champion her constituents and expand representation for her communities in Sacramento.

Christy Holstege is an effective and progressive leader whose record on getting real results for her constituents will be critical in strengthening community governance in Sacramento.

Corey Jackson’s experience as a courageous community advocate and organizer will be key to moving elected leaders on the solutions we need from our state legislature and shift political power back to the people of Assembly District 60 and California.

Fauzia Rizvi’s commitment to fighting for her community will mean that the constituents of Assembly District 63 will have a champion in Sacramento focused on addressing housing, water, environmental protections, and education.

Alameda County has a long history of being at the forefront of social justice reform and change.Pamela Price is the only District Attorney candidate with deep community roots and an advocacy track record that will  bring the needed leadership to shape the office and reflect the residents of the County. Her dedication to protecting reproductive rights and LGBTQ+ communities, fighting for victims of crime and systems impacted people, and holding police accountable are what Alameda County communities are looking for in a new DA.

Courage California is dedicated to supporting and electing candidates who will actively champion our issues and communities, especially in the face of corporations and special interests and the inertia of a political system that doesn’t always serve our people well.

Tim Robertson, Paula Villescaz, Catherine Blakespear, Joseph Rocha, Jessica Self, Christy Holstege, Corey Jackson, Fauzia Rizvi, and Pamela Price will join Courage California’s 2022 General Election progressive slate, which includes Attorney General Rob Bonta, Secretary of State Shirley Weber, Malia Cohen (State Controller), Dave Jones (SD8), Aisha Wahab (SD10), Caroline Menjivar (SD20), Liz Ortega-Toro (AD20), Pilar Schiavo (AD40), Tina McKinnor (AD61), Lola Smallwood-Cuevas (SD28), Alex Lee (AD24), Rick Chavez Zbur (AD51), Fatima Iqbal-Zubair (AD65) and Congresswoman Karen Bass (Los Angeles Mayor) – all leaders who will serve all Californians, effectively and equitably.
