The massive gas leak in LA’s Porter Ranch neighborhood was the worst environmental disaster since the BP oil spill. It further exposed our state’s failed oversight and slow emergency response, the weak laws governing regulation of gas storage facilities that led to this disaster, and our over dependence on fossil fuels and methods of extreme oil extraction.
