43 Californians have been killed so far this year because police officers are legally allowed to use deadly force whenever they deem it “reasonable.”
AB 392, the California Act to Save Lives, would amend the use of force standard so that police officers can only shoot when absolutely necessary and when there are no other alternatives to addressing the situation. With the passage of AB 392, police officers would be held accountable for their actions — which is why the police lobby is trying so hard to defeat this bill.
