As Exodus International Shuts Down, New Documentary by Lisa Ling “God and Gays” Documents ‘Gay Conversion Therapy’ Group’s Change of Heart
LGBT Leaders in California Attend Film, Host Discussion on Movement
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – With Exodus International ministries, the most prominent gay conversation therapy group, announcing plans to shut down last week, and the US Supreme Court scheduled to hand down a landmark set of decisions determining whether whether or not same-sex couples have an equal right to marry, this week, LGBT rights in this country are at a crossroad.
On Thursday, June 27th, in a private screening, Lisa Ling will show her new documentary film, “God and Gays” at Sony Pictures Theaters in Culver City, California. In her film, she documents the complete change of heart by Alan Chambers, the President of Exodus International on the use of “gay conversion therapy.” After the film, Lisa Ling, along with California Senate President pro Tem Darrell Steinberg, State Senator Ted Lieu, and CourageCampaign.org founder Rick Jacobs will talk about the film and the state of the LGBT movement.
