Courage California is going all in to pass AB 701, a bill to protect frontline warehouse workers by providing them with stronger rights and protections.
It’s not just physical injuries that Amazon and other warehouse employees are experiencing. Due to Amazon’s relentless quotas, lack of breaks, and “mega-cycle” shifts that force employees to work from 1:30 am to 11:50 am, workers are reporting alarming rates of anxiety, depression, weight loss, trouble sleeping, and migraines. Some workers are even reporting suicidal ideation and substance abuse.
And that’s where AB 701 comes in: The bill would not only strengthen workers’ rights, it would also protect warehouse workers from abusive work quota systems that are leading to widespread and potentially deadly physical and mental health issues.
Jeff Bezos and Amazon have made billions throughout the pandemic. Meanwhile, warehouse workers have risked their lives, and some have even died, keeping our communities running.
It’s past time that we pass strong laws that protect warehouse workers.
We’re on the cusp of winning this fight. But we can’t do it without you, our supporters.
