Currently, over half of California’s renters have to pay over 1/3 of their income on rent, which is unsustainable for the health and well-being of families, our business climate and the economy, and for our environment. We can’t afford to wait longer for change.
The Keep Families Home bill package — which includes AB 1481 (Bonta) and AB 1482 (Chiu) — needs to be enacted this year if we hope to reduce the hardship, displacement and homelessness harming Californians. These two bills will help increase stability, security, and affordability for California’s renters, by returning more tools to local jurisdictions to stabilize rents and protect renters from unfair evictions.
Call your legislator and ask them to support the Keep Families Home bill package, which includes AB 1481 and AB 1482.
