Courage Campaign Reacts as AL Court Orders Judges to Stop Issuing Same-Sex Marriage Licenses
Statement by Dr. Paul Song, executive chairman of Courage Campaign on news that the Alabama Supreme Court ordered probate judges to stop issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples:
“Tonight’s ruling is nothing short of outrageous. Once again, Alabama has put itself on the wrong side of history. We are confident that once the dust settles, marriage equality will be the law not only in Alabama but nationwide as well. Love is love. It is not something that should be subject to being legislated or litigated. Until then, Courage Campaign and our 900,000 members stand in solidarity with the thousands of same-sex couples being denied justice and we will continue to fight until all LGBT individuals have the right/freedom to marry in this country.”
