Courage Campaign Reacts to State Sen. Leland Yee’s Indictment

Statement by Dr. Paul Song, executive chairman of the California-based Courage Campaign, on the news that State Sen. Leland Yee was indicted for public corruption:

“We are deeply saddened to see the news that yet another State Senate Democrat has been indicted on corruption charges. This marks the fourth Senator in a little more than a year to fail their constituents by exhibiting an alarming lack of integrity. Our politicians must be accountable to the people they serve — not to gangs, or movie moguls, or the Big Oil lobby. Sen. Yee’s indictment serves as a vivid reminder that we must do everything in our power to hold our elected officials accountable to the best interests of Californians, not special interests.”
