Statement from Rick Jacobs, founder of the Courage Campaign, on the news that Mitt Romney chose Paul Ryan to be his running mate:

“Paul Ryan is co-starring with Mitt Romney in Back to the Future IV. He’s the right-wing sequel that takes us back to before Medicare, before Roe v. Wade, before Social Security, before the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.  Just when we thought Mitt could not get worse, he did. If Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney get the Back to the Future machine, which in their hands the White House would be, rich white men will own everything—the middle class, the poor, women, LGBT people, the elderly—anyone who’s different be damned.”
