More than $36 billion in funding for education, childcare, healthcare, nutrition, and housing were slashed during the Great Recession and have yet to be restored. Budget negotiations are going on RIGHT NOW, and instead of using new Prop. 30 revenue to restore funding to vital services, Governor Jerry Brown is hoping to fund prison expansion and stash billions away for the next rainy day.
