LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – In a new petition by the California-based CourageCampaign.org, over 100,000 Californians are joining Gabe Smalley in urging the Tribune Company, publishers of the Los Angeles Times, not to sell the paper to David and Charles Koch or any other political propagandists.   On Monday, April 1st, Courage Campaign, joined by Daily Kos and MoveOn.org members will deliver the signatures to the Tribune Company’s Headquarters by City Hall Park in Los Angeles.

SIGN THE PETITION HERE: http://act.couragecampaign.org/sign/latimeskoch/

The petition comes after the Hollywood Reporter and LA Weekly reported on March 12th that the Koch Brothers wanted to buy the Los Angeles Times to further their radical right-wing agenda and move fringe Tea Party ideas into the mainstream.  So far, more than 100,000 people have signed the petition calling on Tribune Company President Peter Liguori to refuse to sell the paper to political propagandists.

WHAT: Courage Campaign, joined by members of MoveOn.org and Daily Kos will deliver over 100,000 signatures telling the Los Angeles Times — “Do not sell a respected, independent newspaper to climate change deniers, Tea Party funders and election buyers. We won’t stand for another Fox News.”

WHERE: Meeting at the City Hall Park, on the corner of Spring and 1st. Metro users: Civic Center/Grand Park Station exit.

WHEN: Monday, 01 April 2013.  1:30pm PST.   We will begin our march to the Los Angeles Times office at 1:45pm.

Last week, the Tribune Company and the Los Angeles Times, rejected an advertisement by CourageCampaign.org and the Daily Kos to run in the Los Angeles Times that called on the company not to sell to the Koch Brothers.
