CarMax — the biggest used car retailer in the country — gives consumers the impression that it’s done everything possible to make a used car safe — claiming that their “certified” cars have undergone a rigorous, “125+ point inspection.” But according to The New York Times, “CarMax’s ‘Certified Quality Inspection’…does not include fixing recalls.” Meanwhile, they took in nearly $11 billion in revenue last year. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has the power to fight back and stop CarMax’s dangerously deceptive advertising practices. But they will only act if they hear from people like YOU who have the courage to care.
