Courage California is excited that endorsed candidate, Tina McKinnor, won her Assembly District 62 special election and was seated Monday, June 20.
Courage California has witnessed Tina McKinnor’s tireless and successful record of fighting for working families and congratulates her on her victory. McKinnor is a longtime community leader who has worked on the ground and in the Capitol to pass bills and elect leaders Californians deserve.
“Tina McKinnor campaigned on a bold and clear vision for the people of Los Angeles and California – and the support she received on election day reflects the desire for a progressive champion in the Assembly. Tina is a Courage California partner who has worked on the frontlines to build coalitions to fight for working families and improve the lives of the most marginalized communities, which is why Courage enthusiastically threw our support behind her. She has a strong record of delivering for the community, and we know she will continue to do so as an assemblymember,” said Irene Kao, Executive Director at Courage California.
McKinnor will serve out the rest of the AD62 term from Monday, June 20, till November and then seek re-election to the assembly in the newly redistricted Assembly District 61.
