58 White Roses, 500 Orange Carnations Symbolize the Killed and Wounded in Las Vegas

Courage Campaign Warns Rep. Rohrabacher: “Your Lack of Action Has and Will Continue to Kill Innocent People”

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA — On Monday, October 9th, constituents from California’s 48th Congressional district will join with members of the California-based Courage Campaign to deliver 500+ flowers to Rep. Rohrabacher’s Huntington Beach Office demanding action on gun safety legislation.  The activists, dressed in all black and standing in silence, will deliver 58 white roses and 500 orange carnations symbolizing those killed and injured in the Las Vegas mass shooting earlier this month, 33 of the killed were from California.

Courage Campaign, the group organizing the action, points out that Rep. Dana Rohrabacher didn’t offer a single word for the Las Vegas shooting, and has accepted more than $19,000 from gun groups and the NRA in the past.  Courage Campaign members will leave behind a statement along with the flowers that reads: “We stand with Las Vegas and all of the lives that our country’s reckless gun laws endanger. Your lack of action has and will continue to kill innocent people.”

WHEN: Monday, October 9th. 1:00pm PT
WHERE: Rep. Dana Rohrabacher’s Huntington Beach Office. 101 Main Street. Suite 380. Huntington Beach, CA. 92648

“We will not allow Rep. Rohrabacher to sweep yet another horrific mass shooting under the rug — and put off reasonable action to make people safer from gun violence. Gun violence impacts all of us, and the deaths of more than 33 Californians in the Las Vegas shooting prove that Rep. Rohrabacher’s failure to act impacts his constituents directly.” explained Eddie Kurtz, executive director of the California-based Courage Campaign.  “The shooter was not alone. Every gun lobbyist and politician who help make access to these weapons easier were in that room with him.”
