Walgreens Backs Down: Will Remain A US Company
Move Comes After Thousands Of Courage Campaign Members Had Petitioned The Company Last Week
Statement from Dr. Paul Song, executive chairman of the Courage Campaign on news that Walgreens will not move their corporate headquarters to Switzerland, remaining an American company:
“We applaud Walgreens’ decision. The fact of the matter is no US company should pick up and move out of the United States for the sole purpose of dodging taxes. To do so would have been the height of corporate greed. This decision is good for Walgreens, good for their customers and good for our nation.”
Earlier this month more than 22,000 people signed onto a petition by Courage Campaign urging Walgreens executives to keep the corporation headquartered in the United States.
