Supreme Court ruling could jeopardize California’s environmental rules
What does this mean for California’s climate future?

In a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court overturned the so-called Chevron doctrine, a long-standing legal precedent that instructed U.S. courts to rely on federal agencies to interpret ambiguous laws.
So what does this mean for California’s fight for green energy? All eyes will be on the legislature more than ever, and the state is going to have to work harder to manage our pollution and emissions.
